FOR COUPLES THERAPISTS · FALL 2026 · IN PERSONSupervision Dig-Ins:
Getting stronger in the hard spots
Two days of hands-on practice for EFCT therapists who want to stop reading about the hard moments and start drilling them. Iterative, stop-and-start role plays in small triads — the kind of repetition that builds muscle memory, and clean work that holds up on a certification tape.
- Dates
- Nov 6 & Dec 4
- Hours
- 9:00–4:00
- CEs
- 6 per day
- Cost
- $175 each
- Format
- Small triads
Space is limited by the triad format.
WHAT THESE ARENot a lecture. A day of reps.
Think of each Friday as a lab, not a classroom: small triads, iterative role plays for couples therapy, stopping and starting, and going again until the intervention lands in your body instead of your notes.
You'll work the same moment more than once. You'll get it wrong, get feedback, and run it again — which is the only reliable way any of us build fluency at the moments that trip us. And because the practice is clean and focused, the work you capture here is the kind of work that holds up when you sit down to record with a live couple.
Community is essential to the process! Meeting in-person helps grow the safety, and your circle of support, both of which are needed to do this work long-term.
Small triads
Therapist, client, partner — rotating, so you get real time in the chair and extra iterations from watching others.
Stop-and-start
We try on, pause, tweak, adjust, and run it again. Repetition at your growth edge is how we grow muscle memory.
Real time feedback
Specific, supportive, and immediate — so the adjustment happens while the moment is still live, not a week later.
Certification-clean work
If you're working toward certification, these days are designed to help you capture moves that support clean tapes.
Our greatest growth as therapists happens at our leading edge — that vulnerable space between knowing the model and living it in the moment.
THE DIG-INSTwo days, two stages of treatment.
Each training stands alone. Taken together, they run from interrupting the negative cycle your couples get stuck in to hitting the gas on vulnerability, with the same role play focus carrying across both Fridays.
Part 1 — clearing the path
Bullets, Blocks, and Breakthroughs
Mastering the Stage 1 Hard Spots
Friday, November 6, 2026
Before the Tango can do anything, the cycle has to stop running the session. This day is about containment, building safety, and sharing the lead by taking the lead — jumping into action as the stronger, wiser other when your highly escalated couples are drowning in their protection and under the weight of a vicious cycle. It is the preamble, not the choreography.
What we'll drill
- Essential skills for highly escalation
- Getting out in front of the cycle
- Catching bullets
- Navigating blocks
- Ending hard sessions with clarity & compassion
Part 2 — camping out
The Stage 2 Deep Dive
Getting a clean Step 5–7
Friday, December 4, 2026
Once safety holds, the work changes. This day is about helping clients access and camp out in primary emotion long enough to get success with vulnerability and caregiving — staying in it rather than touching it and moving on. Less hedging, more staying. This is where the withdrawer re-engages and the pursuer softens, and where the event either lands or slips away.
What we'll drill
- Following live, primary emotion
- Growing our trust of soft, slow, and low
- Steps 5-7 Withdrawer Reengagement
- Steps 5-7 Pursuer Softening
- What is needed for a successful Stage 2 footage (Certification)

For practicing the essential skills in deescalation and restructuring the bond.
You will role play all day. It is the part people are most anxious about beforehand, and the difference maker they mention afterward.
Your facilitator
Dr. Alexandra Marcotte, LP
Alexandra supervises across all three EFT modalities and builds her supervision around deliberate practice and feedback-informed care, because the evidence is clear that structured repetition and honest feedback are what move outcomes. These two days are an invitation to spend a whole Friday at your leading edge, on purpose, with colleagues doing the same.

Registration closes Friday, October 9.
Because everything runs in triads, this training will be kept intimate in group and room size.
Questions
Before you register
Can I come to just one day?
Yes. Each day stands alone at $175. Part 1 clears the path and Part 2 goes deep, so taking both gives you the full arc and $25 off — but neither depends on the other.
Is this couples work, or does it apply to individuals and families?
These dig-ins are focused on couples therapy, as the skills are specific to having a dyad in the room. While you may find overlap with EFIT and EFFT, the focus will remain on couples throughout.
Do I need to be EFT-trained?
Yes. The day assumes working familiarity with the Tango, the stages, and the steps — we'll be drilling them, not teaching them. If you're not sure whether you're far enough along, reach out and we'll talk it through.
Will I actually have to role play?
Yes, all day. You'll rotate through therapist, client, and partner in a small triad and run the same hard moment more than once. It's the part people are most anxious about beforehand and the first thing they mention afterward. Feedback is supportive, specific, and aimed at your growing edge.
Do I need to bring a case or a tape?
No. Nothing to prepare and nothing to present. Bring yourself and a willingness to take a risk in front of colleagues taking the same risk.
Do these hours count toward ICEEFT certification?
No. For group supervision to count toward certification hours, you have to show footage of a live session — and this is experiential role play, not live work.
What it does do is build the in-session muscle memory that makes your live sessions worth taping.
